It’s that time of year again! The huge Food Network NYC Wine & Food Festival is upon us again. From October 11th to the 14th, the chefs of the Food Network and superstars of the culinary world descend upon New York City for four days of demonstrations, talks, book signings, and a whole lot of wining & dining. Everyone who is anyone in the world of fine dining and cooking shows up to these events, and it’s all for a good cause: all the proceeds from ticket sales go to the Food Bank for New York, which has raised more than $5 million over the five years the festival has been going on! That’s so great!
You can still purchase tickets for a number of events and talks going on throughout the city this weekend at the festival’s website. Some of the events are kind of pricey–I don’t have $200 for a chocolate making class with Jacques Torres, but man, I wish I did! But there are a ton that are very affordable, and some are even free, like the Illy Coffee Amnesty event on Saturday, where you can hand in a can of your regular coffee for a free can of single-origin, free-market coffee (and maybe meet chef Marcus Samuelsson in the process!) It’s a must-go weekend-long event for anyone who considers themselves a foodie or a chef groupie, so check out the festival’s website and see what events tickle your fancy!
